NAAC 3rd Cycle CertificateBangabasi Evening College, situated at 19, Rajkumar Chakraborty Sarani (Scott Lane), Kolkata 700009, was established in 1965 as a separate institution from the offshoot of legendary Bangabasi College. It has secured the highest score 2.82, B++, in the third cycle of NAAC amongst all the evening colleges of West Bengal. It offers 19 Honours and Multidisciplinary undergraduate courses of BA, BSc and BCom, also BVoc course of Hospitality and Tourism and BFSI, funded by UGC, as well as M.Sc in Mathematics Post Graduate course under the University of Calcutta.
All faculty members have PhD or MPhil degrees, NET, SET, with research publications. They are amply efficient, research oriented, and also affectionate in solving the problems of the students. The college is always engaged to conduct seminars and symposia, funded by the Central Government like UGC, DST etc and also of its own. Many teachers are engaged in active research projects and developmental works funded by the Central Government including UGC, RUSA, DST, ICSSR and SERB. Bangabasi Evening College has well managed NCC and NSS units. Several poor and meritorious students are getting state and national scholarships from this College. In a word this College is an abode of better education with supreme teacher student relationships and administrative assistance for the students.
With generous help and encouragement of the administrative and financial assistance from the Department of Higher Education, Government of West Bengal and constant cooperation from all the stakeholders, Bangabasi Evening College has been playing a major role in contributing to the cause of weaker and poorer sections in the country, producing empowered and enlightened individuals.
