About Physics Department

Bangabasi Evening College had developed as a section of Bangabasi College. However it was only in 1965 that the present Bangabasi Evening College emerged as an independently functioning unit. The Department of Physics was established in 1965. The Department had formed an integral part of college since its inception. The course offered to this institution is Undergraduate Course. According to New Educational Policy (NEP) of CU under Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF 2022) the Department offers 3 year General Cum Multidisciplinary Courses only. Here it is taught in combination with Science subjects, so BSc degree is conferred to the students. Previously it was taught with Arts subjects, so BA degree was offered. The college conducts Unit Tests, Mid-Term Test, Annual Test, Test Examinations before the Final University Examinations and other internal examinations to help the students prepare for the University examinations. Participation of the department in the courses offered by other departments The BSc. students opting for Physics General have to study two other general subjects like Chemistry and Mathematics, Zoology, Botany, Phisiology as Generic (Gen) and 3 Inter-Disciplinary (ID) Subjects for both Hons and Gen students of BSc. The Department is run by four efficient substantive teachers at present. No post remains vacant. No post remains vacant.
