About Zoology Department

Bangabasi Evening College had developed as a section of Bangabasi College. However it was only in 1965 that the present Bangabasi Evening College emerged as an independently functioning unit. The Department of Zoology was established in 1965. The Department had formed an integral part of college since its inception. The course offered to this institution is Undergraduate Course. According to New Educational Policy (NEP) of CU under Curriculum and Credit Framework (CCF 2022) the Department offers 3 year General Cum Multidisciplinary Courses only. The college conducts Unit Tests, Mid-Term Test, Annual Test, Test Examinations before the Final University Examinations and other internal examinations to help the students prepare for the University examinations. Participation of the department in the courses offered by other departments The BSc. students opting for Zoology  General have to study two other general subjects like Botany,Chemistry, Anthropology, Mathematics as Generic (Gen) and 3 Inter-Disciplinary (ID) Subjects for both Hons and Gen students of BSc. In every year there is one or two excursion for the students of the said department. The Department is run by one efficient substantive teacher and few visiting teachers at present. One post remains vacant.
